About the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Department
The Mattydale fire department is 100% volunteer with approximately 40 members. The Mattydale Fire department covers about 1.9 square miles and on average runs about 1,200 calls per year. All training is completely free and classes are available to become an NYS CFR or EMT. NYS offers a $200 tax credit for being an active Volunteer Firefighter after one year of service.
