Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS Services in Washington, North Carolina needed to replace worn office chairs, and generic seating wasn't going to cut it. The department wanted furniture that reflected their identity. FireStationFurniture.com delivered: Duty-Built® Custom Embroidered Executive Side Reception Chairs with the WFD department logo stitched into every headrest.

Washington Fire Chief: Delivery Experience

"We were in desperate need of replacing our office chairs, and a quick google search led us to FireStationFurniture.com. We were worried that they would not be able to match our departmental scroll, but all it took was a simple png image and it was matched perfectly. After we received and approved the proof for the artwork the quoting process was quick and priced well for the chairs we received. The chairs were packaged well for shipping, and they were easily assembled in just a few minutes. The chairs are heavy duty and built to last with strong fabric and frames. We are definitely pleased with the process and products provided from FireStationFurniture.com and would highly recommend to anyone."

Department Profile

Washington, North Carolina has been fighting fires since 1791, when the volunteer Washington Fire Company was formed. In 1913 the town became the second in North Carolina, after Raleigh, to put a self-propelled motor fire engine in service. The department became a paid career department in the 1980s and reorganized as Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS Services in 1999.

Today the department runs two stations, a downtown Station 1 and a west-side Station 2 that opened in 2008. It provides fire suppression, rescue, and paramedic-level EMS, with a minimum of 11 shift personnel on duty each day staffing two ambulances, an engine, a ladder truck, and a battalion chief. Chief Flowers has led the department since July 2023.

Product Spotlight

Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS chose the Duty-Built® Custom Embroidered Executive Side Reception Chair w/Sled Base, a black vinyl side chair built for station life. It handles heavy daily use without showing it: curved padded arms, built-in lumbar support, a sled base with floor-protecting glides, and vinyl that wipes clean after a long shift.

What sets it apart is the embroidery. Every order includes a proof for department approval before production, so the logo comes out exactly right. In Washington's case, the WFD patch now appears on every headrest in the office.

Why It Matters

Office and reception chairs at a fire station see real use: company officers reviewing reports, admin staff handling scheduling, new hires filling out paperwork, and residents stopping in with questions. Heavy-duty frames and strong upholstery hold up to all of it without needing to be replaced every few years, saving the department from buying the same chair twice.

The embroidered department logo does something a plain chair cannot. It ties the office to the same identity crews wear on their uniforms and see on the apparatus. Small details like that build station pride.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can FireStationFurniture.com chairs be customized with department logos?

Yes. Many of our items, including office and side chairs, offer custom embroidery for department logos and patches. You send the artwork, we send a proof, and production starts after you approve it.

What file format do you need for embroidery?

A clear image file of your logo or patch is all we need to get started. Washington Fire-Rescue-EMS sent a single PNG and the embroidery was matched from that.

How long does a custom embroidered order take?

Custom embroidered chairs are made to order. Lead time runs about 6 to 8 weeks from final artwork approval.

Is assembly difficult?

No. The Executive Side Reception Chair ships one per box and, as Chief Flowers noted, assembles in a few minutes.

Why choose FireStationFurniture.com over a big box store?

Our furniture is chosen for 24/7 station environments with multiple users. Standard retail office chairs are not built for that kind of use, and they cannot carry your department patch or logo.
